Palin on SNL: That was it? Seriously? Not even a white flag?

From the Guardian:
The New York Post loved Palin's appearance: "Was she funny? You betcha!"
The paper said she "raised the roof" on her SNL debut, "yukking it up with actor Alec Baldwin and executive producer Lorne Michaels as she watched dead-ringer Tina Fey lampoon her at a fake news conference".
Maybe they were watching something you weren't. Shrug.
They gave her basically no dialogue in the part with Alec Baldwin, so unless standing there impassively while Baldwin & Michaels read off teleprompters counts as "yukking it up", the Post must have been watching the special magic Rupert Murdoch Alternate Reality Show.

I actually went into it trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. I mean, okay, so SNL isn't exactly the most appropriate place for her to turn around and suddenly start knowing what she's talking about politically, but nevermind that for a minute. She's supposed to have such a winning personality, and I thought they'd at least let that shine through, but we didn't even get that much.

It was like watching a puppet show. The delivery was so wooden (all around, both with Palin, the regular cast, and the multiple guest stars), that even if the dialogue seemed funny in the script, it was all lost in translation in the actual performance.
